Sadly, my favorite brand of breakfast sausage is loaded with msg and sugar. I've started making my own that's healthier and keto friendly. It can be made with ground turkey, but you'll need to add 1 tsp of olive or avocado oil for the correct fat balance. Try this recipe in sausage & cheese meatballs, or scotch eggs.
Ground Breakfast Sausage:
1 lb ground pork
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp rubbed dried sage
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp ground coriander
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
Mix all the spices together and gently fold into the meat until combined. Don't overwork the meat or it will get tough. Form patties and pan fry until done through. Freezes well. Good for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
